Memorial Biography

Peter Marquardt, actor and video game producer, has died at age 50. Marquardt died in Austin, Texas, on July 19. He starred as a villainous drug kingpin in the Spanish-language film El Mariachi, despite being unable to speak the language. He appeared in several other feature and short films during his career and provided voice acting for popular computer games Deus Ex and Wing Commander IV among others. Marquardt was also a producer for the Austin-based computer game studio ION Storm.
